Dashboards for Visualizing Platform-Wide Usage and Engagement

To track and submit support tickets you can access the Ready Education Customer Portal.

The Data Intelligence module includes a set of dashboards that help Admins visualize engagement metrics and platform adoption.

Access

The dashboards are available from the “Data” section, in the top menu.

Once you add the Data Intelligence module to your contract and the feature is enabled in your tenant, these features will be unlocked and accessible by Admins.

Permissions

Once Ready Education has enabled the “Dashboards & Insights” feature in your tenant, any Admin with the “Is Admin” permission can access the Dashboards from the Admin menu. If certain Admins should not have access to view platform-wide analytics, an Admin with the ability to “Set Permissions” can go to ADMIN > Users > Administrators to revoke the “Dashboards & Insights” permission for those specific users.

Downloading Charts

Use the top three-dot menu to download the dashboard (or individual charts). These can be downloaded as CSV, PDF, or JPG.

Understanding Charts & Data

Use the top three-dot menu to view the chart description, which provides details about the specific query, as well as questions the chart is designed to answer. View the chart in full-screen for better legibility of the data and the description.

You can also “Drill to Detail” to view the source data. This is not intended as a way to export the raw dataset, but as a way to gain a clearer understanding of the type of fields being referenced to render the chart. Report Builder is a better solution for exporting records as .csv files.

Filtering Charts

The default time frame is “previous calendar month.” You can update this by clicking on the filter, setting different date parameters, clicking “APPLY” button to close the modal, then clicking “APPLY” button (again) at the bottom of the panel to actually apply the filters to the dashboard in view.

Tips & Tricks

Why am I seeing the error: Data error: 400 Bad Request?

There are 3 reasons an error like this may appear within each chart:

  1. You are attempting to view the dashboard in a private browser or incognito mode. Resolve this by loading the dashboard in a non-private browser (since private browsers do not support the use of passing a guest token, which is how the authentication works when loading the analytics interface within CampusGroups).

  2. You are viewing it in a browser with a setting that prohibits the method used to authenticate you to view your data. To resolve this:

    1. In Safari: uncheck the default setting to “Prevent cross-site tracking” enabled under Safari > Settings/Preferences > Privacy.

    2. In Chrome: Uncheck the setting to “Block all third party cookies” enabled under Chrome > Settings > Privacy & Security > Third-Party Cookies

  3. You have left the page dormant for more than 2 hours. The token expires after 2 hours, resulting in this error. Resolve this by simply clicking your browser’s “refresh” button to reload the page.

Why am I not seeing all the available data?

If you are seeing empty charts, it’s possible that your tenant has not yet been added to our data pipeline. All new production tenants should automatically be added, but this may take up to 2 weeks.

If you are seeing data, but it seems to not align with the same data you see in other areas of the platform, check if the chart has a filter applied. If there is a number next to the filter icon, hover over it to see details about what is applied. You can remove filters in the left-hand filter panel.

Hover over the filter icon
Expand or collapse the filter panel

Use the three-dot icon to view the chart description, which explains the logic behind the query used to generate the chart.

If you still feel that the chart misrepresents your data, submit a support ticket.

Why are the filters not being applied?

The filters have two "apply" buttons:

  1. One to “apply” the specific filter

  2. One to “apply” the combination of all filters to applicable charts on the dashboard.

This second one is found at the bottom of the filter panel.
