Communicating With Your Members through Emails, Notifications, and Posts
As an Officer of a Group, it is essential to keep your members engaged and one way to do this is communicating with your members. In CampusGroups, you have three main ways to do this: Emails, Notifications, and the Group Feed. In this article, we'll explore how to use these tools effectively to connect with your members.
Emails and Notifications
Manage your group
Click on the Members dropdown and select Current Members
Note the “Send Notification” and “Send Email” buttonsFilter your audience
Use the checkboxes to select your audience
Select either Send Notification or Send Email
Notifications will be sent as a push notification to users' mobile app, and also appear in the notification list on web.
If you copy/paste a valid URL into the message, users will be able to click/tap the URL when viewing the notification from the web or mobile device. A valid URL begins with http:// or https://. This is supported by mobile app versions starting with v2025.6.2500.
Viewing Sent Communications
You can view the list of all emails and notifications sent by you and your fellow Officers of your Group by visiting the menu items for Emails and Notifications, respectively.
This includes notifications sent to Contacts, as well as Attendees of your Group’s Events.
Group Feed
Within your group, Officers can create Channels where members can communicate with each other. Simply navigate to your Group Page, select your Channel and post!
By default, your group will have one General Channel, however, Officers can create additional Channels for their members in their group:
Navigate to your group’s Home page
Click on the More Icon
Select Create Channel
Select whether it is a Public Channel or Private Channel
Provide the Channel with a Name, Purpose, Icon, and Icon Color and click Next
If you created a Private Channel, click the More Icon and select Edit Channel to choose who has access to the channel
Within Public Channels, you can limit who can post within the channel to wither all group members or limit it to Officers only (Members will still be able to Like and Comment). Follow these steps to limit Members form having the the ability to post on Public Channels within your group.
Navigate to your group page and click on Settings
Check the box for Don’t allow members to post on the feed
