What size images should I use in Campus Cloud?

As a Campus Cloud administrator, you may be asked, "What size images should I use in Campus Cloud?" You might be asked questions about sizes and formats, and how images appear in the campus app.

1) Campus Guide Tiles

The ideal size of images for campus guide tiles is 450 pixels wide by 250 pixels tall.

For a file type, use PNG with alpha channel.

2) Channel Icons

The supported image formats are JPEG or PNG, not GIF. We recommend using Square images.

There are no specific restrictions on the image sizes, however, smaller images are better as it reduces the load times on the app. We recommend using image between 500 * 500 pixels and 1000 * 1000 pixels for shorter download times.

3) Channel Posts

When a user posts an image to a channel, it appears square in the campus app. An ideal image size is 900 pixels by 900 pixels. If you choose an image smaller than that, it may appear blurry on the campus app.

You can post images that are larger than these dimensions, but they will be cropped in the campus app. Students can tap an image to zoom out and see all of it.

Images posted to channels must be under 5 MB in size. For a file type, use JPEG, or PNG with no alpha channel.

4) Event Image

The event image is displayed at the top of the event info page. An ideal image size is 1125 pixels wide by 600 pixels tall. If you choose an image smaller than that, it may appear blurry on the campus app.

The event image can be JPEG or PNG, and must be under 5 MB in size.

5) Location Image

The location image is displayed when a user views a location on the campus map. You can use an image of any size.

For best results, keep the important information in the centre of the image.

If the image is landscape orientation (such as a photo), the sides will be cropped to make it a square.

6) App Banner

The app banner is displayed at the top of the campus guide. An ideal image size is 1440 pixels wide by 800 pixels tall.

The banner can be JPEG or PNG, and must be under 5 MB in size.

Once you upload your image, you can use built-in resize and crop tools to fine-tune the app banner.

7) School Logo

The school logo is displayed at the top of the home page. An ideal logo size is 480 pixels wide by 99 pixels tall.

The logo should be white for best results. The format must be PNG with alpha channel.

8) Contact Trace Form

You can add an image to the Contact Trace form. An ideal image has the following specifications

Image Size Limit is 5MB
Image format supported is JPG, PNG

Note: The image extensions should be in lowercase, otherwise the server has issues reading them and will give an "invalid extension" error.

9) Service image

The Service image is displayed at the top of the service info page. An ideal image size is 200 pixels wide by 200 pixels tall for square images and 720 wide by 400 tall for rectangular images. If you choose an image smaller than that, it may appear blurry on the campus app.
