Manage test lists

Manage test lists

Before modifying the lists

On Android, you need to think about which you subscribe a user to for two reasons:

  • Google Play Store does not allow you to move from test lists easily

  • Testers will not be able to :

    • be both an alpha and a beta tester

    • be a tester and use the production

You need to keep in mind these elements when you manage your testers lists.

Prerequisite to add a tester

To add a tester on Android, you need to know their Google Account email. You will find it on the Google Play Store top right icone. (see below)

Recommendations

To choose who should be an alpha or a beta tester, you should ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Do they need access to the production app or to check the content from My AppScho Production

    • Yes : they cannot be an alpha tester

    • No : they can be an alpha tester

  2. Is the tester a student ?

    • Yes : add them as a beta tester. In fact, the production is the result of the beta version: therefore, the student will be able - at least - to view the same information as the ones in production.

    • If you add them as an alpha tester, they will have access only to the acceptance version, therefore they might not be able to access their real data.
