🌟 Improved navigation from Notification Center to Community

We know users are engaging with notifications as their primary way of accessing content in the app. This new user experience is designed to use that entry point to better encourage students to engage with posts and comments in Community.

When students tap a notification related to a new post, they will now be taken to the relevant channel and then scrolled to that specific post, where they can continue to read, comment on, and "like" additional posts. Likewise, if they tap a notification related to a new comment, they will be taken to the parent post, and scrolled to that specific comment. This more intuitive navigation provides clearer context, leading to deeper exploration of Community activity.Β 

🌟 Show My Profile: Giving users more control over their privacy

We have introduced another setting under Privacy to give app users the option to use Campus App without their identity being discoverable by other users.

Toggling off this new setting effectively hides the user’s identifying information from search results and member lists in the app.

Notes about this new setting:

  • The user’s name and email address are still visible to certain Admins in Campus Cloud.

  • If the user takes action (posts a message, sends a friend request, etc.) their identity will be attached to that action (for security reasons). The intent of this enhancement is to support users who want to access information via the app without actively engaging.

  • This new global setting supersedes the legacy group setting. If a user already opted to be hidden from the member list of any Organization or Service, they will have this global preference defaulted to hide their profile everywhere.

🌟 Universal Links

Campus App uses universal links for check-ins to Events and Service Providers. You can tap on the URL from your phone, and it will launch the app and check you in. However - if you did not have the app installed, you landed on a blank page.

With this release, you will, instead, be redirected to a landing page with a friendly message and prompt to download the app.
