Implementation Best Practices

  1. The following individuals / departments must be involved in the implementation to ensure a successful launch of CampusGroups to your campus community:

    • Student Affairs/Activities representative(s) - to serve as the functional users, provide platform requirements, participate in training, and develop launch plans.

    • Project Manager - to coordinate with the Ready Education Implementation team to ensure the project is on track, and all milestones are being met

    • IT representative(s), CIO/CTO, IT Director - to ensure the IT department is participating in the technical implementation components, such as single sign-on, user provisioning, mobile app deployment and 3rd party integrations.

    • Marketing representative(s) - to ensure the platform is on-brand for your institution, to provide branded assets, and assist in messaging for the platform launch.

    • Student Leader/Ambassador(s) - to provide end user input during requirements gathering, and conduct end user testing of certain features.

  2. Review the Implementation section of our Knowledge Base prior to starting your Implementation. Here, you can find more information on what to expect during the implementation journey with Ready Education.

  3. Your Implementation Consultant will provide the following resources to ensure you have full visibility into the progress of your implementation:

    • An Implementation Project Plan, where you can track the status of key milestones.

    • Your Client Implementation Portal, where you can access checklists and resources to help guide your implementation experience.

  1. The following technical activations or integrations should be prioritized during the early part of the implementation of CampusGroups:

    1. Dedicated (Branded) Mobile App

      • If your institution does not have it’s own Apple and Google developer accounts, these can take 2-3 weeks to set up.

      • Your marketing/communications department will need to generate branded app assets that meet Apple and Google requirements, which can take 2-3 weeks.

      • Ready Education requires up to 6 weeks after all client deliverables are completed, to account for delays in the Apple and Google review process for apps before they can be published.

    2. Single Sign-On: We encourage all clients to set up SSO to ensure the platform is easily accessible to their end users.

    3. Automated User Provisioning: Depending on the setup of your SSO and SIS/CRM, it can take your IT department some time to get SFTP flat-file upload and/or API integrations set up.

The Dedicated (Branded) Mobile App is not a core platform feature, and is part of the ‘Custom Branding’ Feature Add-on. Therefore, this may not be applicable to your institution.

  1. Generally, Ready Education will not accept the following types of requests during the implementation (or post-implementation):

    1. Requests to access the client’s other systems (ex. LMS, CRM, IdP, Events/Rooms Management Systems) to configure those system on your behalf or migrate data.

    2. Requests for custom development or custom integrations with systems we do not support. These requests will need to be submitted using our Feature Suggestion Form to the Product team.

    3. Configure the platform on the client’s behalf. We empower administrators at the campuses to learn the platform, and then complete the configuration.

  2. Following the completion of your implementation, you may require additional support, such as platform configuration support or additional virtual or on-site training. While our Implementation Team will provide training and support to the best of their ability during the implementation, you may find that certain administrators or groups of users at your institution require additional support.
