Registration with Edusign

Registration with Edusign

About this feature

This first integration of Edusign into our solution aims to enable attendance signing via scanning a QR code in the application's scheduling functionality.

Useful resources

How does it work?

⚠️ This functionality is only available if the institution already has an integration with Edusign ⚠️

Once courses are created via the attendance sheet on Edusign's side, students will then be able to use this functionality via the application. Find all the information on creating attendance sheets here!

Registration via the application

The principle for students is simple: if they need to sign electronically, they can do so from any schedule view in the application.

There are two main ways to register via the app. They are:

  1. Register to the schedule.

When a course is configured with an attendance sheet on the Edusign side, we retrieve the course information in order to display the link, button and sign-in icon in the app. This is what these elements look like:

When they are displayed in the app, for the student, nothing could be simpler!

  • Simply click on the link or button, the student will then be redirected to the QR Code scanner*.

  • Once the QR Code has been validated, all you have to do is sign, validate and that’s it!

  • After validation of the signature, the visual action components disappear.

*For the information icon, you must go to the detailed view or return to the dashboard and click on the button to be able to sign.

  1. Register for notifications.

A notification is sent when the registration window is open. This corresponds to the display of the registration button (link and icon).

The student can sign in directly by clicking on the notification received, they will then be redirected to the QR code scanner.

If the student opens the notification after the end of the registration window, he will see an error message appear (see possible errors).

Duration of the registration window

By default, signing up for a course can only take place during class time.

This corresponds to the course's exact start and end time configured in the Edusign attendance sheets.

  • For example: a digital marketing course takes place from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Students will be able to register on this course between 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

The duration of the registration window can be modified according to the requirements of the institution. Please note, however, that this parameter is configurable for the entire institution: all courses will be impacted in the same way.

We still recommend keeping a slot of at least 15 minutes so that the teacher can install their equipment and the students have time to scan.

❌Possible error cases:

  • If a student does not scan the correct QR Code

  • If a student attempts to sign in outside of the registration window

  • If a student who has just registered tries again
