Accessing the alpha and beta versions of your app

How to setup your iPhone / iPad to receive alpha and beta versions of your app.

When the first alpha or beta iOS version of your app will be published, a link will be generated and transmitted to you so you can forward it to your testers.

The alpha link is different of the beta link because they are two different testers groups. An alpha tester is not a beta tester by default, and vice versa.

If you wish for a tester to be an alpha and beta tester, you have to forward him the two links.

The tester will have to open Safari (and not a third party browser like Chrome or Firefox) on his iPhone or iPad.

The TestFlight invitation page

The first button View in App Store will invite the user to install the TestFlight application if it's not already installed.

The TestFlight app can be considered as an alternate App Store specifically aimed to install test version of apps. All your alpha and beta versions will be on TestFlight.

Now that TestFlight is installed the user will have to launch it and connect its Apple account. He will then have to tap on the second button Start testing (in the already opened invitation page) to activate his access to your app on TestFlight.

From now on the app (and its future updates) will be available to download from the TestFlight app.
