Managing Sessions in an Event Hub

Within an Event Hub, sessions serve as the core component as they are the events within the Event Hub. For instance, an Orientation Event Hub might require attendance at certain sessions for all participants. Additionally, you can organize sessions into tracks, which serve as pathways that are specifically meant for certain users populations, such as International Students or Honors Students. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of uploading sessions and connecting them to the right tracks.

Uploading Sessions

You can upload multiple Sessions to an Event Hub at one time by using our Excel upload template.

  1. Manage the group who is hosting the Event Hub

  2. Click on the More Tools dropdown and select Hubs

  3. Manage your hub

  4. Click the Dashboard menu and then click on Sessions

  5. Click on Upload Sessions

  6. Click the cg_sessions link to download the Excel file and follow the guidelines
    on the screen

  7. Upload the completed Excel file

 

Adding a Session to a Track

Tracks allow users to create sub-events within an Event. Adding Sessions to a Track allows event attendees to see a customized list of sub-events.

  1. Manage the group who is hosting the Event Hub

  2. Click on the More Tools dropdown and select Hubs

  3. Manage your hub

  4. Add your Track by dragging it into the Hub

  5. Click the Edit icon next to the Track where you would like to add the Session(s)

  6. Select Manage Sessions in Track

  7. Click the Showing Sessions dropdown and select Not In Track

  8. Check the Add to Track checkbox to add the Session to the Track

Removing a Session From a Track

When an event is updated, it may be necessary to remove a Session from a Track so it no longer shows for event attendees.

  1. Manage the group who is hosting the Event Hub

  2. Click on the More Tools dropdown and select Hubs

  3. Manage your hub

  4. Click the Edit icon next to the Track where you would like to remove the Session(s)

  5. Select Manage Sessions in Track

  6. Locate the Session(s) that needs to be removed and uncheck the Add to Track box
