Using Form Logic

Harness the potential of logics within Surveys and Forms, empowering users to construct dynamic conditions around questions and answers. Seamlessly control the survey experience with the following Logic Types:

Follow these steps to get started:

  1. Manage your group

  2. Select the Surveys & Forms dropdown and select All Surveys & Forms

  3. Create or Edit an existing Form

Question and Page Logic

  1. Be sure to Hide the page or questions that should be invoked by logic

  2. Click on the Logics button for the question that should invoke the hidden question or page to display

  3. Click Create Logic

  4. Set your Logic Type as Question or Page

  5. Set conditions in the If and Then sections

e.g. If the answer to “What year are you? is First-Year, then show the question “Please tell us about your involvement/extra-curricular experience before coming to college.”

  1. Click Save

Workflow Logic

Workflow logic will allow you to invoke a step that is part of a workflow

  1. Navigate to the step of the workflow that should be invoked and be sure the step is Not activated by default so that this step only displays if the condition is met

  2. Navigate to your form and click on the Logics button for the question that should invoke the workflow step

  3. Click Create Logic

  4. Set the Logic Type as Workflow

  5. Set conditions in the If and Then sections

  6. Choose the Step of the Workflow that should be invoked based on this condition

Submission Tag Logic

Submission Tags allow you to automatically tag each submission so that you can easily filter by submissions that have certain tags associated with it

  1. Navigate to your form and click on the Logics button for the question that should automatically add the tag

  2. Click Create Logic

  3. Set the Logic Type as Submission Tag

  4. Set conditions in the If and Then sections

  5. Choose the Tag that should be applied based on this condition

Submitter Tag Logic

Submitter Tags allow you to automatically add a Member Tag or User Tag to each user who submitted the form. This is different from submission tags because it is tagging the user instead of the submission.

  1. Navigate to your form and click on the Logics button for the question that should automatically add the tag

  2. Click Create Logic

  3. Set the Logic Type as Submitter Tag

  4. Set conditions in the If and Then sections

  5. Choose the Tag that should be applied based on this condition
