User Permissions

When configuring Account Types, each Account Type is accompanied by a distinct level of access. Users designated as Student or Staff/Faculty are considered full users, while customization options within User Permissions are available for users listed as Alumni, Friend, Other/Guest, and Recruiter (if utilizing the Career Module).

  1. Navigate to Admin > Settings > User Permissions

  2. Limit what these types of Users CANNOT do within the system by checking off the relevant box

On the right-hand side of the screen, you will see the level of permissions for Unverified Users. Unverified Users are users who created their own guest account (e.g. registering for an event that is open to the public). These users will have even more limited access and CAN only do what items are checked of here.

Users can then be verified and given more access by navigating to Admin > Users > Verify Users.

Most schools are using SSO and SFTP/API to upload users and choose not to verify these guest accounts as these users typically don't need extra access.
